The Pre-Survey Visit - The survey chairman and team leaders meet with counterparts in your company to structure the survey and determine:

    • The proper focus.
    • The expertise needed for the survey teams.

The Survey - Normally requires about three and one-half days.

Voluntary on-site surveys are conducted for organizations that request to take part in the BMP Program and are willing to share non-proprietary processes and practices with others. It is important to note that a BMP survey is NOT AN AUDIT and there is NO CHARGE to an organization.

The participating organization has the final say on what practices are shown and published. BMP wants to see only those processes and practices that the organization does well. The findings are distributed electronically and in hard copy throughout the U.S. and Canada. The actual exchange of information is between organizations at their discretion.
