The BMP Satellite Centers were established as an extension of the BMP Center of Excellence to provide regional representation and awareness of the BMP Program. Depending on available resources, a Satellite Center's duties and activities include:

• Promoting the benefits of BMP within its regional community.
• Providing assistance to the regional manufacturers through the use of BMP tools.
• Hosting regional workshops on common technical issues.
• Training regional personnel in the use of BMP tools.
• Presenting technical papers and BMP literature at regional trade shows and conferences.
• Conducting presentations at local colleges and universities.
• Writing articles for publication in technical newsletters and journals.
• Documenting and publishing BMP success stories and lessons learned..
• Encouraging and promoting BMP surveys within its region.
• Recruiting potential Team Members from its region.
• Establishing and maintaining contact with other BMP Satellite Centers.
• Maintaining close contact with regional organizations surveyed by BMP.
