The BMP Survey of CACI’s RCM program was conducted the week of November 6, 2007 at the company’s Fairfax, Virginia facility.

Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM), practiced by CACI’s Engineering and Logistics sector, is a methodology used to develop cost-effective maintenance that preserves the intended functions of equipment and systems. RCM is a back-to-basics, engineered approach to develop or validate preventive maintenance requirements. Originally conceived by the commercial aviation industry in the mid-1960s, it has been widely accepted as the definitive way to identify the right maintenance by the military and industry. RCM optimizes reliability and maintainability, enabling increased operational availability. RCM also optimizes preventive maintenance to ensure the right mix of preventive and corrective maintenance.
RCM is an engineered and repeatable process that incorporates risk analysis, ensures the safety of personnel and equipment, supports mission requirements, and protects the environment. By using well-defined engineering rules, RCM takes the guess-work out of determining maintenance tasks and ensures the correct maintenance is performed on the right equipment and at the proper time to prevent equipment failure.
