Information : Special Test Equipment
Demonstrating an overall commitment to total quality and a can-do attitude, CONAX Florida Corporation developed test equipment to meet its specialized needs. One example of this proficiency is the nitrogen analyzer system. This system is used to analyze the nitrogen which provides the cryogenic cooling necessary for accuracy of an infrared sensor. The nitrogen must meet specific purity and particle size requirements for the seeker to perform properly. Use of an outside test laboratory is expensive and causes lengthy delays.
Nitrogen is contained in a sealed tube until the actuator is fired, and then metered out to the cryostat. To perform the test properly, all measurements on the sample must be made at the same time. A special manifold was developed by CONAX Florida Corporation that allows the analysis of the nitrogen. Particle size, hydrocarbon analysis, and mass spectrometer measurements are also completed. Having this analysis capability in-house has saved CONAX Florida Corporation hundreds of thousands of dollars in test costs and avoided lengthy delays in obtaining the test results from an outside source.
