Electric Boat Corporation, Quonset Point Facility’s Training Record System Database makes it simple and easy for supervisors to plan and assign qualified workers to perform skilled tasks. It employs a user-friendly search and sort capability while indicating workers whose qualifications are delinquent or will soon require training.
Electric Boat Corporation, Quonset Point Facility (EBQP) recognized the need for a database to effectively deal with the information pertaining to the training of its employees. Specifically, supervisors needed to track the qualifications and training needs of themselves and their employees. The Training Records System Database was created to track the training qualifications and training needs of each employee.
The Database was moved from a mainframe environment and is now available at the work area on desk-top units, employing user-friendly search and sort capabilities. Supervisors can easily search the Database to plan and assign currently qualified workers to perform skilled tasks, and color codes are used to show worker records that are delinquent or will soon require training. EBQP’s Training Record System Database also ensures that qualifications do not lapse, while combining personnel training needs in one convenient location.
