The Central Training Facility at Oak Ridge is a unique operation that trains personnel responsible for maintaining security. The facility consists of 712 acres, an indoor and outdoor firing range, training rooms, towers, a simulated house of tires, and paved trails through the woods that provide scenarios for training. A wide range of firearms and tactics training has been developed and is conducted on site and also through Mobile Training Teams. Training is performance based and may be site specific. The training staff consists of highly qualified and dedicated personnel. Many of the staff are nationally ranked marksmen, certified by the National Rifle Association, and have prior military background. The training, philosophy, techniques and programs are available to qualified activities.
