Best Practice : Lean Six Sigma - Lean Website
Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems established a lean website to provide a centralized, authoritative source of information to the Integrated Defense Systems enterprise. This website has enhanced the horizontal sharing of ideas and information and promoted collaboration between value streams and work centers while providing access to performance against objectives established by policy deployment and corporate objectives.
“
Up-to-date lean information at the fingertips of every Raytheon employee” is the vision of the Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems’ (IDS’) Lean Enterprise Website. This website serves as a single point of reference to all levels of the Raytheon IDS organization containing links to best practices, training packages, lean deployment overviews and definitions, reference to lean projects and results, lean metrics dashboards, and the lean event calendar. This information is also accessible by every Raytheon IDS employee at his or her desk, kiosk, or workbench, enabling the exchange of ideas and information for the more than 4,000 personnel at the Integrated Air Defense Center (IADC) facility.
Through deployment of the Lean Website, the IADC facility has achieved objectives that include:
Elimination of silos, increasing horizontal sharing of ideas and expanded levels of communication across the organization
Measurement of the effectiveness of Raytheon Six Sigma™ (R6σ) and lean deployment across the IDS
Generation of new ideas and suggested improvements for existing processes
Connection of every employee to the business.
The Lean Website has enabled the Lean Office to establish and publish best practices, with management and the leadership team now able to track progress against policy deployment objectives. The website has established an authoritative source of information for expansion and sustainment of R6σ™ throughout Raytheon IDS.
