Quality is defined as providing customers with products and
services that consistently meet their needs and expectations. But quality goes
beyond that of the product to include quality of work, service, information,
processes, people, and management. Control of quality in every aspect of the
contractorís operation is the basic approach to total quality management.
A quality improvement program should be instituted to apply
quantitative methods and human resources to control processes. The objective
is to achieve continuous improvement in the selection and application of
components, their installation in subassemblies, and in end user satisfaction.
