interpretative devices. HRI marking may be used alone to convey required
information or may supplement machine-readable information marking.
3.15 Human-readable information (HRI) marking.
a. The information content requirements of HRI marking, used alone for
unaided human interpretation, are defined in 5.2.2.
b. HRI marking to supplement or accompany machine-readable information
marking is defined within the specific guidance for the machine-readable
information marking protocol utilized. (see 4.3)
