3. Software Development Plan
The Software Development Plan addresses the development, integration, and
testing of software. It describes the performance of software coding, unit
test, software build, and software/hardware integration testing. Software
development and integration should use an iterative spiral development process
in which continuously expanding versions are the bases for development.
The software test plan, generated as part of the development plan, is
completed before the start of coding. The software test planning activity
includes plans for the building, use, and maintenance of a software simulator,
and produces data to complete the userís manual. Design and test disciplines
are inputs to the software test plan. Software development is integrated with
prime equipment development where practical.
