The Best Manufacturing Practices (BMP) Program was one of more than 800 exhibitors at the 2006 FabTech International & American Welders Society Show, North America’s largest metal-forming, fabricating, and welding event. This year’s show and conference was held at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, Georgia, October 31 to November 2. More than 20,000 manufacturing professionals attended the event to find solutions to technical problems and to see the latest in new equipment. Exhibitors and attendees represented manufacturers that deliver products to both the private and the public sector. BMP representatives networked with attendees, demonstrated how to access best practices from the BMP Web site, and presented the benefits of applying for the BMP Award for Excellence by hosting an on-site BMP Survey. Attendees were enthusiastic about learning of BMP’s resource for best practices and complimented the Navy for having the foresight to provide such an invaluable program. The annual event was hosted by the American Welding Society, the Fabricators and Manufacturers Association International, and the Society for Manufacturing Engineers.
