Representatives from the Best Manufacturing Practices (BMP) Program were guest speakers at the Pennyrile Industrial Managers Association (PIMA) Group in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, on August 3, 2006. The PIMA Group, sponsored by the local Hopkinsville-Christian County Economic Development Council, is comprised of business managers and leaders from the Pennyroyal Plateau area of Southwest Kentucky, better known as the Pennyrile Region. The Council offers assistance with site selection, industrial development incentives, business relocation, and expansion efforts while bringing awareness to national programs such as BMP that improve a company's competitiveness through the use of best practices and the benefits of a BMP Survey. BMP representatives delivered a Program overview, answered questions, and distributed materials to the PIMA Group followed by visits to the Commerce Park of Hopkinsville and the Hopkinsville Industrial Park where they called on manufacturers ThyssenKrupp (auto chassis assemblies and suspension components), Grupo Autolin (automobile headliners), White Drive Products (hydraulic motors), and the Dana Corporation (automobile frames). The Pennyrile Region is home to a variety of companies that offer a wide range of services and manufactured products.
