Representatives from the Best Manufacturing Practices (BMP) Program have been invited to conduct an on-site survey of the University of New Orleans (UNO) College of Engineering (COE) the week of April 23, 2007. This will be the second time BMP subject matter experts have surveyed the UNO COE’s processes since 2003. The UNO COE has demonstrated continued excellence in performance through its partnerships and programs with the Navy, other federal government agencies, the state of Louisiana, the maritime industry, and other countries and universities. The COE operates five research Centers of Excellence that focus on technical research activities in maritime design and construction, clean energy research and development, solid waste management, water and waste water, water resources, air quality, and advanced manufacturing technologies in both aerospace and commercial markets through research, design, manufacturing, and testing activities. The BMP Survey Team looks forward to visiting UNO and to showcasing the COE’s best practices.
